Your Daily Connection: A Consistent Way to Engage with God's Word
God's Word is food for your spirit – a daily nourishment for your soul, drawing you closer to God and filling your life with purpose and peace.
Why Daily Scripture Reading? Just as our bodies need daily food, our spirits thrive on God’s life-giving Word. It builds you up, equips you, and prepares you, helping to:
Make you complete: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." – 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Give you hope: "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have." – 1 Peter 3:15
Fill your deepest longings: "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." – Matthew 5:6
Bring you life and health: "My child, pay attention to what I say... For they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body." – Proverbs 4:20-22
The Holy Spirit guides you, helping you understand and apply God's Word precisely when needed.
Like daily meals that nourish without remembering every detail, God's Word sustains and strengthens you spiritually, even if you can't recall every verse.
Your Simple Reading Plan: The Word as a Way of Life This plan fosters consistent engagement with God's Word for nourishment, not deep study.
How It Works:
Bookmarks: You have twelve bookmarks. Place each in your Bible at the first book listed on that bookmark (e.g., Bookmark 1: Genesis, Bookmark 2: Leviticus, etc.).
Read: Read one chapter from each of the twelve sections daily.
Cycle: When you finish all books on a bookmark, move it back to the beginning of that section (e.g., after Revelation, move Bookmark 12 back to Matthew). Sections will finish at different times—that's fine!
Stay Organized:
Tabs: Use colored sticky notes or small tabs to mark your place on the corresponding line for the chapter you're on and your prayers. (e.g., chapter 3 on the third line).
Flexibility: Can't finish all 12? Mark your spot and pick up there next time. Don't restart; just keep going!
Prayer: Use the lines on each bookmark to write down people, families, or groups you want to pray for. As you read each day’s chapter, let it inspire your prayers for the person/group listed on that same line, praying for God's blessings and needs met in Christ. Praying the Word is powerful!
This is a Reading Plan, not a Study Plan. Just read! Don't stop to research; you don't need to understand everything. Like food nourishing you without knowing its chemical breakdown, simply reading God's Word nourishes your spirit. Trust the process; the Holy Spirit will bring what you've read to mind. Make notes for later study but keep moving through your daily chapters.
The Amazing Results Faithful reading of God's Word:
